I love to bake, but I often make healthy desserts. Ingredients like coconut oil, coconut palm sugar, oats, all-natural peanut butter, fruit, and even vegetables are all part of my recipes. The other day, I saw a recipe for beet brownies. You use a half cup of cooked beets in the mix. The mere thought filled me with delight. The next dessert I make will definitely be those brownies. But don’t worry, the dessert I’m sharing with you today has no ingredients like that whatsoever. Dulce de Leche brownies are a delicious splurge at Christmas or any time of the year.
Dulce de Leche Brownies
1 box of your favorite brownie mix (or your own favorite recipe)
1 small can of dulce de leche
1/4 cup chocolate chips, or more if you prefer
Prepare the brownie mix according to the directions on the box.
Add chocolate chips.
After pouring the batter into the prepared pan, drop dollops of dulce de leche on top. The total amount depends on how much batter you have and the size of the baking dish. I like to use half a can or more for a 9×9 dish.
Cut through the dulce de leche with a knife in a swirling motion, making sure each brownie will have some of the dulce de leche when they’re baked and sliced.
Bake according to the directions on the box.
Cool and enjoy!
