“Is someone down there?” the driver called. A male voice, all too familiar. If she could dig herself a den and hide out in it, she’d scrape the ground until her fingers were raw. Elmer Derecho. This wasn’t on the list of ways to get him to notice her butt. He was the last person she wanted to discover her in this predicament. Telling him about the light Monday morning was one thing. He already thought she was strange. Discovering her tumbled in a ditch, blind as a bat with prickers in her hair was doubling down on that perception. He’d laugh little harder behind her back at the office. This wasn’t exactly how she wanted him to notice her.

I highly doubt that you are ignorant. They are little plant things that stick in your clothes and hair and are nearly impossible to get out.
They always show up when you’re unprepared. So how does she want him to notice her, eh? I have an idea. Beautifully done, you’ve intrigued me with just a snippet!
